This inaugural post is dedicated to my mom, because as I was trying a few recipes from pinterest this evening
I thought to myself about her famous 20 minute meals that she always made with love and sometimes a hectic smile. I was raised by an incredibly brave, hard working single mom. Somehow she never failed to sit down and enjoy dinner with my younger sister and I. Her staple foods were a rotisserie chicken, zucchini, couscous and of course olive oil. I was convinced (and still am) that she could feed all the hungry children in the world a family dinner with just these ingredients. In twenty minutes. Even if we had had a terrible day/week/month, or were being moody teenagers this ritual was a constant in my life. I didn't realize until adulthood how rare it was to have a family meal like this every night. Alot of my favorite family memories are centered around that dinner table.
As I am about to jump into motherhood in a few short months I know that I will be able to feed my family with love. And the help of rotisserie chickens, pinterest, and of course my mom. Thank you for reading my first entry.
More to come soon on my adventures in learning how to sew, keeping up with my wonderful hockey loving husband whom I will refer to as "Coach," our two ridiculous looking dogs, my off and on love for crafting, probably a few entries in the field of special education/teaching and lots of other things.
As I say to everyone I see, everyday, everytime I leave a conversation with them, because I really hope you do...
Have a great day!
