My awesome sister

I meant to post on Sunday night, but then there was a lot of thunder, some lightning, and a big crash in our backyard, we spent the rest of Sunday night on the phone and with the power company, but more on that and the great neighbors who helped Coach clean up the mess the next day later.

So, my first entry was dedicated to my lovely mother, I think that this entry should be for my awesome, nerd-tastic and oh so talented little sister Mags. Mags is a super smart scientist who can kick anyone's butt on the lacrosse field and since she was a little girl has never ceased to make me laugh. I am constantly amazed by her mind and the wonderful way that she sees the world. She is my polar opposite but the older we both get the more similar I feel like we become.

ok enough sapiness. I love ya sissy!

So what made me think of this, she posted this delictable picture on instagram last Sunday:

Blueberry muffins with greek yogurt. Yum, I know right? I like seeing pictures of people's pinterest creations in real life. My mac and cheese muffins the other night definitely did not turn out picture perfect. These are all hers made in our mom's kitchen.
Now she did post this parked in the driveway at mom's as well, Can't wait to hear the story behind this

You can find the recipe she used here:

So, try it out and let me know what you think :)
I believe this is true for teachers and parents.

Working on a few interesting posts I promise to have up asap.

Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

Naming

Grown Branches...
I am from a strong tree, but have grown my own branches.

Welcome!!!

Alright, so I have always secretly wanted to be a blogger, and well I can't just sit here and wait to be a blogger, I just have to be one!

This inaugural post is dedicated to my mom, because as I was trying a few recipes from pinterest this evening

I thought to myself about her famous 20 minute meals that she always made with love and sometimes a hectic smile. I was raised by an incredibly brave, hard working single mom. Somehow she never failed to sit down and enjoy dinner with my younger sister and I. Her staple foods were a rotisserie chicken, zucchini, couscous and of course olive oil. I was convinced (and still am) that she could feed all the hungry children in  the world a family dinner with just these ingredients. In twenty minutes. Even if we had had a terrible day/week/month, or were being moody teenagers this ritual was a constant in my life. I didn't realize until adulthood how rare it was to have a family meal like this every night. Alot of my favorite family memories are centered around that dinner table.

As I am about to jump into motherhood in a few short months I know that I will be able to feed my family with love. And the help of rotisserie chickens, pinterest, and of course my mom. Thank you for reading my first entry.

More to come soon on my adventures in learning how to sew, keeping up with my wonderful hockey loving husband whom I will refer to as "Coach," our two ridiculous looking dogs, my off and on love for crafting, probably a few entries in the field of special education/teaching and lots of other things.

As I say to everyone I see, everyday, everytime I leave a conversation with them, because I really hope you do...

Have a great day!
